Copywork

I like for my children to practice their handwriting skills, as well as I feel it helps them learn better spelling.  The more they write the words the more they understand.  I make tons of worksheets for them to do each day.  My girls have to complete 3 handwriting worksheets a day.  I also give them bible worksheets 3 times a week.  This is how I get them to practice bible verses too.

If you want a great place for handwriting worksheets they are free.  Here

I love using that site for handwriting worksheets.

By the way we also do copywork.  We copy out of our favorite books.  This is in addition to our handwriting worksheets because my kids are all in the point of where they are learning or practicing writing in script.  Most of their schoolwork is done online so I like to add the offline work too.

Welcome

Welcome to my world.  My name is Jen, I'm the homeschooling mom of 3 girls.  I have an 18 year old son, but he's no longer being homeschooled.

I am creating this blog because I feel there is so much information on the internet about homeschooling, but not much that is "new".  Not too many people keep their blogs updated, and I will be the first to tell you that I am not EXCELLENT at keeping mine updated, but I will tell you that these posts are from 2013.

Right now my girls have a conglomerate of materials.  We are homeschooling in the Dominican Republic, so it's tough to get much in the way of supplies, but we are making it work.

My girls wake up and start 15 minutes of copy work, 3 times a week.  That is where they will hand write a passage out of a book, or sometimes online.  Our English materials here are few and far between.  So online is a great place for us.

They also do 2 hours in Time for Learning in which they get a mix of their math, science, social studies, etc from.  We work 1 hour a day in the Spanish language since we are here in the Dominican Republic.  I would like the girls to know how to read and write in Spanish well as they speak it pretty good! Kids are amazing!

Please comment and tell me what you all use.

I will be happy to do reviews in the future, but as of right now, I have not received any money or free products for telling you about my homeschooling experience.
